Hello everyone. We are a group of youngsters from Poland, Slovenia, Estonia and Cyprus who participated in a youth exchange provided by Youth in action program. We were staying at Vihasoo, national park near Tallinn, Estonia. During 8 days of exchange our task was to question people on the streets of Tallin about European union.
The next people we met were Tomas and Laura from Estonia. They answered questions about Lithuania. They knew that Lithuania is member of EU. Laura answered corectly about capital city of Lithuania, but Tomas said that the capital city is not Vilnius, but Riga and it was mistake. The both of them new that in EU is 28 countries and the latest member is Croatia. But, like did it Tim from GB, they said that the leader of EU parliament is Poland.
The next person we questioned was Sander from Estonia. He was answering questions about his motherland. He knew the capital city of Estonia and that Estonia is the member of EU. Then he answered wrong on the 3 last questions. He said that the leading contry in EU parliament is Turkey. Secondly he said that in EU is only 16 members and that the last member is Poland.
Following person was young men from Estonia Leenet. We was asking him questions about Cyprus. He did not knew, if Cyprus is in EU, but he knew the capital city of Cyprus - Nikosia. Then he said that in EU is 32 countries and that leading country in EU parliament is Poland. He knew that the last member of EU is Croatia.
We were in Tallinn and the first person we met was Tim from Great Britain. We asked him several questions about Poland and Europe. Tim knew that Poland is in EU and that capital city of Poland is Warsaw. But he didn's answer corectly how many countries is in the EU, he said that there is only 14 members. Also he said that the leading country in EU parliament is Poland, He answered that the last member of EU is Croatia and it was the right answer.
The last person we questioned was Einar from Norway. We asked him about Turkey. He knew that Turkey is not in EU and that the capital city of Turkey is Ankara. He answered that in EU is 26 mebers and that the last contry, which joined EU was Croatia. Also he did not know, which contry, at this time, is leading in EU parliament, he said that it is Estonia.

1. Does EU somehow help Estonia?
A: Yes
B: I don’t know I am trying not to be involved to this things.
C: Sure, I know that according to the statistic EU gives 10 times more money to Estonia than it does to EU.
2. Do you feel yourself as a EU citizen?
A: I don’t feel like an EU citizen. I feel myself as an Estonian, but I’m Russian and I have an Estonian passport.
3. Do you know something about EU?
A: Yes, because I watch European news every day and I know everything what mass media takes to us. I hope that EU will live for long time and that new countries join to EU.
4. Does the EU help to your country?
A (Italian): Honestly, not really, but it’s not EUs fault it really depends of us. Politian and politic situation is in that way that we are in jail. We don’t have any information, any culture. We just can’t use the help of EU community.
Moreover, I still don’t feel myself as a European citizen. There is a lot of differences.
5. Do you know when you country joined EU?
A (Italian): Actually, no. I remember only that in 2002 we started to use euro.
6. What do you think about European citizenship?
A: That’s great, just great idea. Everything is fine. I have no money, very nice, just very nice, but I don’t have any money.
7. What do you thing about EU?
A: I think that EU is such a great thing. We have an opportunity to travel, to meet new people. I don’t feel any borders. It’s great.
